Volvo Ocean Race village an awesome experience

VOR promo 5The fleet are in with the last 2 boats having finished with the girls on Team SCA beating the boys on Mapfre across the finish line.

Having played catch-up for much of race their finish ahead of Olympic gold medallist Iker Martinez has proven that one must simply never give up – and that if you sail hard until the very end the rewards will be there too. Their victory over the boys is a popular one.

So let me let you into a little secret – and it’s simply this: THE VOLVO RACE VILLAGE IS AWESOME!

In fact it’s more than awesome with so much to see. The very slippery VOR65s with little under water to hold hem back are mostly out of the water and interesting.

At the Volvo Pavilion one can sail against these race boats on a simulator, and see much, much more. The pavilion is staffed by highly competent and friendly staff from all corners of the globe.

So all you landlubbers, get down to Cape Town and enjoy the experience – while ensuring that the interest and support of the Cape Town stopover is strong so that the race keeps coming here in the future. ENJOY.
