Okay all you landlubbers following the 2015 Vasco da Gama Race. The finish line has been set and now we await the arrival of the leading boats.
It’s tough out there, very tough – but that’s what ocean racing is all about. It’s certainly not for sissies!
Both Gumption and AL Mount Gay Rum are trading places for line honours at the moment as they head into Algoa Bay . Gumption is heading inshore and AL Mount Gay Rum still going seaward in the vein hope that they will benefit from a windshift soon. Only time will tell – so stand by for what is going to be a great finish to a tough race.
Nemesis called in this morning to say all was fine on board, as was the report from Gumption. Nomad has indicated that they have had some seasickness on board and that they are heading to the finish under sail.
Majimoto is in ‘stealth mode’ with no news coming from the boat – probably as they are concentrating hard as they climb rapidly up the leaderboard. No news also from Rocket as she continues her progress in ‘stealth mode’ too.
Stay on line to be part of the action a sthis race heads into its final stages.
The following boats have retired and are heading home to Durban (heir pics are posted here too):
Ray of Light
Bellissama
Bellatrix
HQ2
De Volente
Numzaan
Alkistis
Skitzo
