“Talking Sailing” From My Archives. At False Bay

Runner-up Lionel Fridjohn in the Finns here uses all his art reaching across the face of a swell.

False Bay gets the attention today with a two-page spread on the three-day FD and Finn regatta they held in 1967, with these words opening the short report which contains 9 photos:

“Some of the Republic’s keenest sailing and powerboat types are to be found in False Bay Yacht Club which operates from Simonstown in the shadow of the South African Navy. They are all open-water types with the magnificent, and sometimes turbulent, False Bay on their doorstep.”

It’s a great sailing venue.
