The leading boats in leg 1 of the Volvo Ocean race are scheduled to finish today.

This is an URGENT plea to all yachties and those landlubbers who enjoy the exploits of those who put to sea in small boats to support the race village, and the competitors, throughout the period Cape Town hosts the Volvo Ocean Race.

Cape Town was not originally a stopover for this race which meant that the fleet would have bypassed the ‘Tavern of the Seas’.

To keep Cape Town as a first-choice stopover in the future we need to make sure that as many people as possible support the Volvo Ocean race Village and all the activities surrounding the Cape Town stopover.

So get down to the Volvo Race Village TODAY.
