The Swartkops River, a very popular sailing venue since 1879 – yes that 136 years ago – is under threat from sewerage as 18 megalitres of raw sewage per week has flowed into the Swartkops River during the past three months, turning the River into a major ecological nightmare and a massive health hazard to surrounding communities.
The solution is to fund a competent organization to redesign and replace the sewage infrastructure in Nelson Mandela Bay to international standards.
