Robert has led his team on **Mount Gay Rum AL to crushing victories in every major regatta in Cape Town this season. From victory in the season opening ‘Gaul Regatta’ to his latest victory in the Mid-Summer Fling Regatta, Robert has won them all.
His impressive list of major race results, in which he has been placed first in every one is as follows:
Gaul Regatta – 1st
Spring Regatta – 1st
Crocs Regatta – 1st
Mid Summer Fling Regatta – 1st
Apart from the major regattas, van Rooyen continues to lead his team to top placings in various Club events week in and week out. **Mount Gay Rum AL is one of the better prepared boats in the fleet, and this is due to his dedication, time and a relentless effort to optimize and maintain his race-winning steed.
And when not concentrating on his boat he plays a keen role in administration within his Club.
