Too often our local sailors travel quietly to events, not letting anyone know, nor letting those at home know how they are progressing. So I was somewhat surprised to see that RSA has a lone campaigner at the Optimist Worlds in Antigua, and that at this stage he is on the podium in 3rd spot overall.
His name is Ian Walker, and after 6 races he has already won 3 races, with a 5th being his worst.
Today they have a lay-day, and then 3 more days of racing. Hopefully the rest day will rejuvenate Walker and see him sail to greater heights.
