Making his debut as a 470 crew on the international Olympic circuit is Alex Burger sailing with Asenathi Jim.

They have sailed a really good series to qualify for today’s medal race in 7th place. We all deserve to be extremely proud of them and the way they have competed all week as they have fought back from some deep positions and stayed fast and positive at all times. It is fantastic to see Alex gaining this kind of experience, but the hard work in training in South Africa over the past year is paying off.

The medal race can be followed live on the Kiel Week site at:

Their results so far are: (11.0); 5.0; 6.0; 6.0; 6.0; 10.0

Good luck guys, sail hard and fast.
