The two South African teams finished with a mixed bag of results.
9th overall were Asenathi Jim & Roger Hudson who were DSQ in one race, dropping them back a few places. Their final results were:
11; 2; 6; 8; (18); DSQ; 1; 4; 9; 18
26th overall was Stefano Marcia in the Men’s Laser Class. He received a ‘U’ flag penalty as well as a Black Flag, so his 26th was not such a poor result, especially after such a promising start. His results were:
13; 12; (37); DNF; 25; 37; UFD; 19; 37; BFD; 27
“I finished off 26th at Qingdao, which was disappointing as I made mistakes and didn’t have much luck with equipment. Looking forward to training and limiting my mistakes” he said at the conclusion of the event.
