Flying 15 Worlds. RSA ‘Flying”

by Richard Crockett

There is absolutely no information nor pics about the racing on this event in Ireland, other than the results – not even in the media or news section of the event either!

That aside we have an old team of RSA sailors competing – and for their advancing age (both past the mid 60s and edging ever closer to their 70s) they are doing remarkably well in the 72-boat fleet.

Campbell Alexander and Dave Herridge are lying 17th so far after 5 races – with just two of those 4 races outside the top 20. Not bad for a bunch of old…!

Both are passionate sailors, with Alexander being the most passionate sailor I have ever met, and who is game to compete at every level as long as he is having fun. And with the super-fit and strong Herridge at the sharp end – they are certainly making a statement and showing up many far younger than themselves.

In the pre-worlds they were 11th overall.

Go guys.
