The final two days of this event start today after the fleet assignment series were completed yesterday. Just 2 RSA sailors are competing in the 176 boat boys fleet, being Sean Kavanagh and Rohan Chidley.

After a first day of qualification rounds contested in light airs, the competitors enjoyed much more favourable conditions the following day. The Optimists headed out to the start zone at around lunchtime with the girls kicking off hostilities in a well-established north westerly wind of around fifteen knots.

Sean Kavanagh, competing in his first European Championship event, made the Gold fleet, finishing 44th overall, while Rohan Chidley is in the Bronze fleet.
