Announcement. Cape to St Helena Race 2020

The Royal Cape Yacht Club, in conjunction with St Helena Tourism, have confirmed that the next Cape to St Helena Race will start on the 26 December 2020.

This is a 1700nm race with a history spanning back 24 years.

Based on various discussions with, and the sentiments of, various yacht owners, it is believed that the race will muster a record number of entries.

The race attracts Corinthian entries, cruising entries and the well-established racers too.

Talks have commenced with shipping companies as it is hoped to be able to offer shipping to a limited number of entries. The allocation of this is likely to be based on the vessel size and on a first-come-first-serviced basis as allocated in the order of entries received – with early entries receiving preference.

The organisers are excited to confirm that our airline partner for this event, Airlink, will have a direct weekly flight between Cape Town and St Helena, in addition to their weekly Johannesburg to St Helena option. Discussions are currently underway with the airline for flights for entrants and their supporters.

Race documents will be published soon.
