Interest in the Vasco da Gama Race from Durban to Port Elizabeth is growing steadily, with interest from all around the country. The race starts on 25 April 2015.

The 4th entry to be received is from Point Yacht Club Honorary President, Vernon Goss who will be sailing his Hanse 43 Bellissama.

Goss is no stranger to this race, having done numerous Vasco races to East London, and more recently from Maputo to Durban. His son James, a well known and likeable Durban sailor will be his co-skipper. James comes with a ton of cruising experience, yet is no slouch on the race course.

The next entry expected is another Cape-based Farr 38 entry. All will be revealed when her entry arrives although the owner has been in e-mail contact confirming his intention to compete. Other entries are also expected soon.

The Notice of Race, Entry Form and Safety regulations are all available on the Point Yacht Club website (http://www.pyc.co.za/vasco-2015).

Information may be obtained from the Point Yacht Club sailing secretary Lucy de Freitas (sailing@pyc.co.za)
