hobie KZN GP2 overall results A beautiful hot day at the beach with 10Knotts of wind was the order of the day on Sunday the 9th of February. The second round of the Hobie Grand Prix saw 23 boats entered for a great days sailing. The first race was hotly contested in 10knotts of wind throughout the fleet. Harken RRI Harken RRI OA by Luke Scott Foggy overcast conditions greeted a fleet of 42 yachts before the start of the biannual Round Robben Island Race with Harken. The impressive middle distance fleet comprised of 22 Division 1 yachts, 8 Division 2 yachts, and 12 Division 3 yachts. This regatta is in aid of the National Sea Rescue Institute, and has been on the calendar since 1964. In past years there have been more than 100 boats on the water, but on this occasion there were about 70. The regatta also hosted the Finn Highveld Championships, and attracted an entry of 21 Finns. The Flying Fifteen team of Steve Hegerstrom and Siya Vato ended the fourth day of racing victoriously claiming victory from the duo of Patrick Harris and Jeremy Kriek who have dominated the class over the last decade. Round’s 1 & 2 of the MDM All-comers series was held this past weekend.  The moderate southerly wind made conditions ideal for pursuit racing The fleet was split into two classes senior and junior.  The seniors first race (in a mildly freshening 10 to 15 knot breeze) was dominated by the three 470’s who took out a whopping 9 minutes on the three Lasers and lone Sonnet beating them by 3 minutes over the line.  The 470assault was lead by …
