I venture into new territory today as for the past few months I have been re-organising my photo archives and identifying every image possible. As a result I have tens of thousands of photos sorted by class, boat name, sail number and where possible what event they were taken at.

I have personally taken thousands of images at NCS Regattas, Crystic Weeks, Lipton Cups, MSC Weeks, J22 Worlds and Internationals and more – and continue to scan in images from 35mm slides as and when possible. I am sharing 10 images today.

I have spent this time for the simple reason that many images were simply a very basic file name or number direct from the camera. As a result I was unable to find specific images easily, without spending a ton of time searching.

It’s now time to share these, so if anyone would be interested in purchasing images of their boat, please contact me via email – editor@sailing.co.za – to discuss your requirements. All images are scanned in hi-resolution and can be enlarged to A3 or bigger.

It would be best to get as much info on you boat as possible, with as many of the parameters stated above supplied if possible.

I am honing in specifically on the J22 class today as due to the Lipton Cup now being contested by this class, there may well be a ton of boats being brought out of the woodwork for the occasion, and their owners wanting a reminder of their sailing from yesteryear. The list below is not complete, nor has it been fully completed yet, but it’s a start, and it contains in excess of 4000 images.

Please note though that this is not limited to J22s only, so any boat you have an interest in.
