“Talking Sailing” From My Archives. Take Your Sprog by Car

‘Shesha” stowed atop a stationwagon.

by Richard Crockett

Today I dedicate this Blog to William Pierce-Jones who has been attempting to locate a photo of a Sprog on roof racks on a VW Beetle. I simply do not have one atop a Beetle, so this one will have to suffice as it took me a long time to locate it in a Sprog Log!

If anyone has that memorable image of a Beetle topped with a Sprog, please share it.

So with that pic sorted, there is only one option for editorial today, and that’s to share an extract from Sprog Log number 3 dated March 1956, which gives one all the info required to car top a Sprog, including diagrams.

I was delighted to see many an old Sprog name from yesteryear comment yesterday. Keep the memories alive and the brain functioning by dredging out all that old info most have forgotten.

And I still need to locate old Sprog Logs – please contact me if you have any.
