“Talking Sailing” From My Archives. Photos of Zululand & Zandvlei Yacht Clubs

by Richard Crockett

Thanks to those who responded to the pics of Zeekoe Vlei yesterday.

Today I can share pics of the old Zululand Yacht Club which I remember with some fondness after a great weekend sailing there in the mid-seventies. They had a great little clubhouse right on the waters edge.

I have no clue to the dates of the pics, although they were probably from the ‘60s before Richards Bay harbour was built.

Feedback would be appreciated.

Now I have little information on Zandvlei, or is it Sandvlei?

The images I have today have both spellings used on the back as reference. What I do know is that it is in the Muizenburg area.

Maybe someone can enlighten me and followers of this Blog?

Enjoy, and please remember to REPLY, SHARE or even let me have your thoughts privately via email: editor@sailing.co.za
