“Talking Sailing” From My Archives. NSRI Brings Yachtsman Home After Hardship on the High Seas

Today I am able to share this news, not for the gory detail, but simply to highlight the fact that going to sea in a small boat is tough, very tough. And also to highlight the really good work the NSRI does along our coastline.

The opening paragraph of this report reads as follows: John Ross of Cape Town was towed into the city harbour by the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) yesterday after both engines on his yacht, ‘A 4 Away’, failed on a single-handed trip from Gibraltar.
