Today I am able to share a long newspaper cutting from The Observer in London that gives almost saturation coverage to the entire Ostar (Observer Single-Handed Trans-Atlantic Race) fleet, except those who have not reported.
At ths stage the leaders have covered about 800nm, with The Observer believing that Bruce Dalling could be in the lead.
A taste of what is in this newspaper cutting is this which was relayed by the Baldock Radio Station from Lt William’s whose voice came, clear and confident: We’ve had a frustrating night – light winds, absolutely on the nose whichever way I turn, and thick fog. The wind has now come up from the south-south-west, nice and fresh, Force 4. I’m doing 8 knots into the thick fog and I can hear a ship’s siren.’
