“Talking Sailing” From My Archives. L26s, Sprogs and the Fastest Catamaran

It’s Friday, so to celebrate the arrival of the weekend we can “Talk Sailing” in three different features today.

In May 1981 The L26 celebrated its first birthday with a longish report on the boat, the class and the racing it provided.

The Sprog Nationals sailed in Saldanha Bay were won convincingly by Dave and Jane Hudson who won the first four races, had a 5 and a 3, and then finished with another dominant 1st to score a meagre 5,7 points score overall.

Of interest was that four Sprog teams from the UK competed on borrowed boats.
