“Talking Sailing” From My Archives. Dalling ‘Best Skipper’ in Great Boat

By Richard Crockett

Kees Bruynzeel was a man with a good eye for the lines of a yacht, and an equally good eye at spotting top-class crew. After all, he did build and campaign the most famous yacht ever to originate from Cape waters.

That was of course ‘Stormvogel’, but this is all about Bruce Dalling and ‘Voortrekker’.

Bruynzeel rated Bruce Dalling and ‘Voortrekker’ as the best this country could have produced for the singlehanded dash across the north Atlantic.
