The above headline is quite provocative, yet when one reads this excellent editorial, one can see that Dalling fell in love with ‘Voortrekker’ the moment he boarded the the completed yacht.
“I feel this beautiful boat and I could have an affair” he said.
He followed this by saying “There is nothing brutal about it, nothing coarse about her lines. Voortrekker is really a beautiful yacht”.
She was very easy on the eye, and one could plainly see how easy she was to fall in love with. That’s probably why Dalling was able to coax the very best out of her during the singlehanded Transatlantic Race in 1968.
