The Rob Meek Memorial race starts in Cape Town this morning with a course to Lamberts Bay and a finish in Saldanha Bay, a distance of about 200nm.
Way back in 1987 the fifth race on this course was raced, with Sea Harvest being the sponsors. It was described as a race with a wild start and a fog-filled finish.
Geoff Meek sailing the Baltic 42 ‘Say When’ took line honours with Patrick Holloway sailing Shillelagh taking the overall handicap win.
