Spionkop Dam near Estcourt in KZN was the venue for this event which was dominated by the Rhodesian contingent from Jacana Yacht Club, with Point Yacht Club and KZN sailors putting in a really good showing in the top 10.
Conditions were “iffy” on Spionkop with generally light or strong winds being the order of the day. Sadly the novices were not permitted to race on the days when the winds were strong – a decision made by the race officer for safety reasons.
