Introduction
South African Sailing (SAS) is the nationally appointed authority for Sailing in South Africa. This includes managing and enabling all areas of the sport in South Africa under the SAS Mission: To enable sailing for life across all sailing disciplines for all South Africans.
To this end, SAS is launching the District Development Plan (DDP) as a mechanism to create access to sailing through high quality facilities with well trained staff, thus creating a foundation to a healthy recreational sailing industry as well as a pathway to the highest levels of competitive sailing.
Job Summary
This is an apprenticeship in the industry of sports coaching and training in sailing and the development of sailing. We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and focussed person with a sailing background. Working closely with the SAS National Training Manager, the District Development Coordinator (DDC) will help to implement the District Development Plan in his/her own district by providing support and coordination to the yacht clubs in that district. This is a part time role that requires flexibility in working hours.
