Torrential rainfall and a chill in the air did not affect the RSA team of Asenathi Jim and Roger Hudson who dashed into 3rd place in race 7, obviously revelling in the conditions which reminded them of their winter training back home off Cape Town.

Sailors were made to wait for racing on Thursday as torrential downpours killed off the breeze and produced large quantities of surface water. When the breeze materialised it enabled the sailors to commence racing late in the afternoon in building conditions that ranged from 12-17 knots from the south east.

The RaceAhead guys have now pulled up a position to be 8th overall.

With three races scheduled for today (Friday) and the medal race for the top 10 overall on Saturday, our guys have everything to play for – but will need consistency and no more OCS (on course side) results in these final races. They have always finished well up in the pack medal races, so let’s all show them our support and encourage them all the way.
