The June 2017 issue of SAILING Magazine ends 33 continuous years of my hand on the helm – having produced 396 issues of the magazine in this time.
From now on we are going completely digital in the form of a ‘Blog’. This change gives me endless opportunities to continue promoting the sport and the industry, but without the long lead times a printed publication requires. So there will be an ‘immediacy’ in our coverage, plus an opportunity to give more coverage to a wider variety of events and use more pics as we will not be limited in terms of pages. Plus we will be able to cover the sport in a wider context.
No, SAILING Publications, the publishers of SAILING Magazine is not in financial difficulty as there are more than adequate reserves to settle all accounts. As a result all loyal subscribers will be refunded the unserviced portion of their outstanding subscription. That’s a firm promise as I have absolutely no intention of abandoning ship and leaving people in the lurch.
I see the future as a new and exciting passage, and one on which I would like to have as many SAILING Magazine supporters on board with me as possible. Please stay with us as we venture forth in search of new horizons.
This is the place to be for your ‘sailing fix’.
