From the Archives. Some Old Pics of Durban’s Yacht Mole.

While clearing out and sort some old archive material yesterday I came across these pics of Durban’s Yacht Mole taken in 1982 – and WOW do they bring back memories.

Pic 1. Taken from the yacht mole as one headed down to the then Durban Bay Services where the derelict Café Fish now stands. No walk-on moorings – just chain moorings at that time.
Pic 2. Looking from the International Jetty into town and at some of the building across the Esplanade. One can clearly see the old RNYC building in the background, as is Maritime Court and Maritime House to the left.
Pic. 3. The International Jetty which is no longer, but which was a very popular spot for tourists and sightseers to get a close up view of the yachts and ‘things nautical’.
