RSA Youth Sailors off to Optimist African and the World Champs

The cream of South African youth sailors will get a taste of real international sailing competition when they compete in two major events – the African Optimist Champs and the Optimist World Champs.

The African champs are in Egypt from 1 – 9 July, and the South African team is as follows:

The World Champs are in Thailand from 11 – 21 July, with the following representing South Africa:

These youth sailors have been undergoing extensive training in preparation for these events, with training off Granger Bay and Langebaan. Assisting in the coaching and preparations have been Fabrizio Fruet; Cal Tomlinson; Claire Walker; Dylan Long and Roger Hudson.
