It was a strong-wind opening day for the 700 boats competing at the Delta Lloyd Regatta in Medemblik, Holland, something the RSA teams should have enjoyed and thrived in.
Faring well in the Mem’s Laser was Stefano Marcia who finished with a 9 & 25 after two races.
Asenathi Jim and Roger Hudson in the Men’s 470 ended the day with a 13 & 16 – probably a disappointing result for them.
In the 49er class Graeme Willcox and Andrew Tarboton finished 20; 25 & 25 in their three races.
There is a long way to go for our guys as this is a long event, so let’s hope their positions improve as the regatta gets into its stride.
