The 2017 European Championships in Warnemuende came to an end with flat calms and simply not enough wind to race in, so the racing was cancelled.
The fleet launched early at 09h00 and used the best of today’s wind to get out to the race course, but once there the wind died down and the fleet was left bobbing around until the race committee called the regatta off at 12h00. The event was superbly organised, all credit to the race officer, bridge and rescue teams as well as the organising club, Warnemuende Segel Klub.
The Danish Bojsen Moller brothers Jorgen and Jacob won in convincing style after 4 races with a first and two seconds having discarded a 9th. Second was Nathan Batchelor and Sam Pascoe from great Britain, and third was Lutz Stengel and Frank Feller from Germany.
Jonathan and Warwick Ham from South Africa finished 49th overall.
We would like to thank our family and all of our supporters back home for your support and well wishes.
