Are you dreaming of competing in the Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe against the trimaran MACIF, while keeping your feet dry?
Register now for the MACIF – François Gabart Challenge on Virtual Regatta, as part of the “Challenge the Champions” project, and participate next week in the virtual Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe regatta against one of the greatest skippers in solo ocean racing.
The French sailor will be at the (virtual) helm of MACIF; the actual trimaran on board which he broke the solo round the world sailing record on 17 December 2017 in 42 days, 16 hours and 40 minutes.
The start of the (virtual) race will be given on 24 September in Saint-Malo. The virtual route, which will last an estimated eight days, will take the competitors to Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe, following the same route as the competitors in the Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe, whose start will be given on 4 November and of which François Gabart is one of the favourites aboard his MACIF trimaran.
Access to the race is open to all, and participation is free. The race will be held in one-designs, which means that all participants will sail on sailing yachts identical to François Gabart’s MACIF trimaran.
