There is something deeply satisfying and therapeutic about a really good varnish finish – that’s when you’ve done it yourself of course!
Achieving a really to quality varnish finish takes dedication and time, lots of time – and one must not be rushed. That’s the mistake I made as I was keen to try the new Awlgrip Allwood varnish that Seaport Supply sent me to evaluate.
I decided that my chart table lid was looking a little tatty, and in need of sprucing up, so off it came and into my workshop at home. I though a light sanding, with a small blemish being singled out for extra treatment, would suffice – and I learnt the hard way.
