Another glorious day dawned on the MSC Week 2014 fleet on day 3 of the regatta. By the time the racing started there was 8 to 10 knots of NE wind with a bit of a lump on the swell.

The cruising fleet started promptly at 11h00 and soon split between those opting for the offshore routte and those deciding to go up the beach. Stoked gave Bellatrix a run for her money on the upwind leg before rounding the top mark. Bellatrix soon charged down the coast back to the finish closely followed by a group of yachts intent on taking the corrected time win away from Bellatrix. This was achieved by both Liquid Blue and Stoked pushing Bellatrix into 3rd place.

The L26 class started with a bang – right into the back of the bridge boat. After two boats returned for a recall and B2G2 did not, they sorted themselves out and Co-ordination took the first race of the day followed by Cheetah and Lindiwe. The second race was won by B2G2 with Co-ordination in 2nd and Cheetah in 3rd while Co-ordination took the third from B2G2 and Cheetah.

In the Micro-multihulls, Bandit won the first race of the day followed by Ladybird and Crazy Diamond. In the second race of the day, Crazy Diamond led Bandit around every leg of the course only to be pipped on the line. The third race reflected the same result as the previous race.
