Looking at the long range weather forecasts the record of 6 hours and 30 minutes set in 2012 by Lee Hawkins & Ollie Burnett on a Hobie Tiger could be under threat as strong south westerly winds are due to blow from the start all the way to the finish. The race starts on Saturday.
So far the entry is as follows:
4 Hobie 16s
5 Hobie Tigers
1 Tornado
2 Nacra F20 Carbon
The SAS duck and 3 jet skis will escort the fleet.
The non-spinnaker boats depart from Vetchies beach at 06h00 and the spinnaker boats at 08h00.
