One simply runs out of superlatives with which to describe Blaine Dodds and his ability to always be in the hunt for major Hobie titles, irrespective of where he competes in the world. He also has too many podium finishes at world championships to be able to keep count!
In the recent Hobie Multiclass Worlds in Holland, Dodds put in a very late charge to end up second in the Hobie 14 Worlds, a title he previously won in 2015.
And then, not content with that he teamed up with Charles Girard for the Hobie Wildcat worlds, and put in another solid performance to finish with another second place on the podium. He and Girard lost out to the reigning World Champs.
Blaine just seems to get better and better with time. But, and very importantly, he is always happy to impart his knowledge and assist others, especially the young up-and-coming sailors. He also puts a lot back into the sport in many different ways.
Well done Blaine, may you continue to promote our wonderful sport and impart your knowledge to improve the sailing abilities of those following in your wake.
