The Australian Hobie 16 team of James Wierzbowski & Pip Pietro Monaco have won the Hobie World Cat 2014. Second was the Danish team of Daniel and Nicolaj Björnholt with Blaine & Roxanne Dodds from South Africa third. This was after 11 races.
On the third day the teams in the top ranking were highly motivated as for ‘team Dodds’ conditions were similar to the South African conditions they are used to. But the Germans and South Africans were unable to attack Australia seriously.
“The Sylt Sailing Week has established itself as a high-profile sporting event on the island and has found worldwide recognition,” said Willi Trautmann, one of the organisers.
