I’ve been fortunate enough, in the last 18 months, to have sailed three different yachts in very different conditions. My own boat, a steel hulled Dix 43’ pilothouse sloop, from Simon’s Town to Mauritius, Maldives, Chagos, Rodrigues, Reunion and back home via Durban, East London and Port Elizabeth, leaving in mid winter and returning five months later. I’ve also recently delivered a Fountaine Pajot 44’ Helia catamaran from Tunisia in the Mediterranean to Tortola in the British Virgin Islands via the Canary Islands and the Cape Verde Islands and I’ve just returned from delivering a steel hulled Dix 38’ pilothouse sloop from Seychelles to Langkawi in Malaysia via the Maldives
