Last week during the Odzala Discovery Camps 52 SUPER SERIES V&A Waterfront regatta there were magnificent pics of the racing to be had.

Yesterday I shared an album of ‘Phoenix’ pics – see them HERE

Today I share another album of boats and scenes other than the ‘Phoenix’ boats.

If you did not witness the racing last week, pencil in these dates – 31 March to 4 April – and get here. You will not regret it.

A huge debt of gratitude is owed to the Plattner family, and others, for bringing these two events to our shores.

Going to windward.

That’s all that could be seen of this ship when the fog came down.

The sailing action was close inshore – and to Mouille Point lighthouse too.

The Cape Town Stadium and Devils Peak dwarf these yachts.

The helmsman appeared to have been sweating as the red boat passes astern – and only just!

Lots of sail and lots of boats in close-quarter situations.

There’s little room to manoeuvre in – and two bowsprits looking menacing!

All in a row and all pushing the start line.
